From May 5 to 8, cunova took part in AISTech 2025 in Nashville with its business units Melting & Casting Technologies and Service Division – one of the leading industry gatherings for the international steel sector. Organised by the Association for Iron & Steel Technology (AIST), the event brought together thousands of experts and companies from around the world.
Smart Products, Strong Service: What’s New from cunova
The focus of this year’s appearance was the introduction of the Cu+ Mould Plate, which was presented to an international audience for the first time. „There was strong interest in our new Cu+ Mould Plate – particularly in its advanced cooling concept and stable long-term thermal performance which could lead to higher lifetimes of the copper plate, highlighting its relevance for demanding casting environments.“ says Daniel Kellermeier, Head of Sales Mould Plates at cunova GmbH. Designed for maximum thermal loads, the mould plate expands our portfolio with a durable and low-maintenance solution for demanding casting processes.
Our well-established innovative mould tube designs were also showcased – including the WAVE® Mould Tubes, which promotes improved shell formation through optimised billet guidance, and the CV CoolingDesign, which enables an increased heat transfer which may lead to higher casting speed . Both technologies are an integral part of our portfolio and were the subject of practical technical discussions throughout the event. „In many discussions, we focused on improving the quality of the final product and enhance casting performance – areas where WAVE® and CV Cooling Design continue to prove their value,“, explains Tom Beyer, Head of Sales Mould Tubes and Specials at cunova GmbH.
Beyond product solutions, we showcased the full strength of our Service Division – from thermal component recoating and mechanical refurbishment to precise technical consulting under live operating conditions. Our services are designed to extend equipment life, reduce downtime, and optimise performance across all stages of production.
Networking and Business Development
Technical sessions and conversations throughout the exhibition made it clear where the industry is heading: digitalisation of production workflows, real-time process monitoring, and more sustainable production workflows were central topics.
AISTech once again proved to be a valuable platform for engaging in direct dialogue with customers and partners from around the world. We appreciated the many insightful conversations – and were pleased to support visitors with practical input on design, performance, and maintenance challenges in continuous casting operations. Thomas Kelly, Chief Sales Officer of cunova Service USA, resumed: „This years’ exhibition offered the right balance – renewing trusted partnerships while creating space for new dialogue, both technical and personal.’
Conclusion and Outlook
Thank you to everyone who visited us in Nashville. Your interest and valuable input are driving our next steps – and we look forward to continuing the exchange.
